Woman sees ‘dead dog’ lying on side of road, then realizes she still has time to save him

Every single day, Judy Obregon Rossell ventures to a site in Echo Lake of Fort Worth, Texas that is known for being a popular spot where people dump unwanted animals. Judy checks to see if there are any scared and lonely dogs who are in need of food, healthcare, and a new home.

Sometimes she gets there in time to save them, and other times it’s too late and she finds poor dogs who have passed on after being left for dead.

Thankfully when she came across Mercy, she wasn’t too late.

Though Mercy was still alive, she was in bad shape with fractures and broken bones that required a specialized surgery.

“Unfortunately we do not know what happened to Mercy and can only assume the worse based on her injuries,” Judy wrote on Facebook. “It is disturbing that Mercy had to deal with evil people at such a young age, I don’t even want to think about it!!! The area in which she was found in has a history of many discarded souls ( dead and alive).”

Thanks to The Abandoned Ones “Saving Animals in Danger”, or TAO, they were able to raise funds to pay for Mercy’s surgery, which cost a few thousand dollars.

“Mercy has the sweetest soul that I can’t imagine the pain she endured, the fear of laying in the ditch she was found in,” Mercy said. “Dumped and ignored as she laid there in pain.”

Judy is the founder and CEO of TAO. They rescue animals, sometimes from unspeakable horrors.

As we mentioned before, Judy often finds abandoned dogs at the dumping ground that just don’t make it. But what’s even worse is that sometimes these dogs are mutilated and/or tortured before they are dumped.

The signs of abuse some of these dogs appear to have suffered are just unthinkable. But thanks to Judy and the TAO, some of those dogs don’t have to continue suffering.

“You know that is one thing about animals I so love is that they are so loving and resilient regardless of what evil humans do to them,” Judy said.

Judy is basically a dog rescue angel. Sent from heaven to save to dogs, heal them, and love them.

And so is the rest of the team at TAO. If you’re able, you can make a donation to them at taoanimalrescue.com to help them save even more unfortunate animals.

Two puppies fall into a pit with a king cobra – cobra’s response shocks everyone

Cobras are not exactly known for their friendly demeanor. In the eyes of the modern world, the cobra, as well as snakes in general, are known for their sneaky predatory behavior, so when two puppies found themselves inside the bottom of a snake pit, they, along with the man that found all three animals, were undeniably afraid of what might happen.

The two puppies were at the bottom of a snake pit in the Indian state of Punjab, and according to the man that found the two dogs, the whole was incredibly deep- impossible for the dogs to climb out of themselves. While initially afraid of the scene that he saw before him, the man soon realized that the king cobra next to them didn’t seem to have any interest in injuring them. In fact, he saw that the snake seemed to almost be protecting the two puppies!

The two puppies ended up spending 2 days in the pit. When they were able to get help, the cobra also stayed out of the way so that they could get lifted without any problems. The two puppies and snake were safe and sound, and the puppies were returned to their owner.

In the end, the puppies spent a total of 48 hours in the pit. When help finally arrived from the authorities, the cobra crawled to the other side of the well out of the way. The puppies were not injured in any way, and the snake was taken to the woods and released.

While animals, especially ones deemed dangerous, seem to kill without rhyme or reason at times, it’s moments like this that truly make us wonder how much an animal understands about compassion and morality.

Cyclist saves abandoned kitten on road. When he scoops her up, she can’t stop kissing him!

Sometimes someone does something so nice for you that you could just kiss them. That’s how this kitty felt after he was rescued by a cyclist. Only thing is that the kitten couldn’t stop kissing his rescuer.

Viitor Fonseca, a cyclist from Brazil, was enjoying a bike ride when he came across a kitten without a home. The tiny little cat was all by himself and Fonseca knew he couldn’t leave him there all alone.

So, he scooped the little cat up and tucked him into his shirt while he rode on his bike.

And the kitten absolutely LOVED it.

“Saving a little life today,” Viitor said on Facebook. “I’m glad that he liked me and was not clawing me.”

They rode more than 6 miles on a bike together. And that little kitty kissed him and meowed the entire way. You can see a cute clip of their bike ride here.

Not only did Viitor save the baby cat but he also went out of his way to find the cat a forever home. Though the kitty seemed overjoyed with his luck, Viitor was truly happy that he was able to save his life.

And we’re glad that we got to see the adorable video of the rescue. You can watch it below.

Man falls from balcony and can’t move. His dog refuses to stop hugging him even as help arrives

Tony, the dog, loves his daddy, Jesus Hueche, very much. So much so that he never leaves his side. Hueche had been working on a tree outside his home in Argentina when he fell 6 feet downward onto a concrete sidewalk. He hit his head and was knocked unconscious.

Thankfully, Tony was there so Hueche was never left alone. Even after his fall, Tony was right there by Hueche’s side until the paramedics arrived. Concerned and worried sick about his father.

Even as the paramedics were putting a brace on Hueche, Tony hugged his dad tight and refused to leave his side. Hueche regained consciousness and Tony felt a little bit better, but he still tried to jump inside the ambulance with him.

However, Tony was allowed on the ride to the hospital.

Thankfully, Hueche didn’t get too banged up and was discharged from the hospital a little while later. Tony was overjoyed, to say the least.

Tony’s sweet and worried reaction to his dad’s fall ended up going viral on social media. And the local radio station, La Brujula 24, found out a little bit more about why Tony is so protective over his father.

Hueche rescued Tony as a stray, so that’s why he is so loyal to his dad.

“One day we saw him on the street and adopted him, gave him love, food and is part of our family,” Hueche told La Brujula 24. “For me, he’s like a son.”

And that’s why Tony loves his daddy so much.

Hero K9 dog takes a bullet for his police officer and saves his handler’s life

Heroes come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, something that has been demonstrated over and over again by the courage and bravery of police dogs in the K9 unit. K9 officers with four legs often help with security or with the detection of certain substances, but they sometimes inevitably encounter dangerous situations as well.

This is the story of K9 officer Kasper, a wonderful dog from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. When a suspect was allegedly robbing a local bar in the area, officers from the local department immediately started their chase to capture the suspect.

Unfortunately, the intervention didn’t go very smoothly. The suspect’s car crashed and to make things worse, he had a gun and opened fire on the police officers. The criminal managed to get away, but it didn’t take long before he was on the police’s radar once again.

He carjacked a woman on the very same day in Jupiter, likely looking for an escape vehicle. Once again, the suspect opened fire and shot at the police officers who were trying to bring him in.

Tragically, Kasper was hit with a bullet that was actually meant for one his human colleagues. After engaging in a gunfight, three officers of the PBSO returned fire and it resulted in a fatal outcome for the suspect. Nobody else got hurt – all thanks to the courageous efforts of Kasper.

The officers immediately rushed to help Kasper and while he was in critical condition for a while, the brave dog is now recovering and stable.

What an amazing dog with incredible perseverance.

Saved from the brink of death: Incredible recovery of the starving puppy so thin her nickname was SPAGHETTI

When she was brought into a Spanish rescue centre, puppy Barilla’s bones were protruding through her skin and her organs were close to failing.
The starved canine was no more than a bag of bones and had so little muscle that she was unable to walk or stand when an animal lover took her in.
But just seven weeks on, Eduardo Rodriguez, the kind-hearted owner of a rescue centre in Granada, Spain, has spoken of Barilla’s remarkable recovery.

Heartbreaking: Puppy Barilla's bones were protruding through her skin and her organs were close to failing when she was brought into an animal rescue centre in Granada, Spain, seven weeks ago

Desperate: The puppy had been so deprived of food and water that  she had no muscle mass and was unable to support her own weight to walk

Animal lover: Eduardo Rodriguez, the kind-hearted owner of the rescue centre, decided to adopt Barilla and slowly nursed the badly abused dog back to health

When the pooch – named after Barilla spaghetti because she was so thin – was first admitted to the vet, it was not known whether she would survive.
She weighed just 16lbs and despite being hooked up to a drip, staff at the centre knew she could suffer organ failure at any time.
‘She’d been so starved of food and water when we took her in that all she could move was her head and her tail, Mr Rodriguez said. ‘She didn’t have any muscle mass.
‘I’ve been rescuing dogs since I was a child and I’m used to seeing them in a bad way but I’ve never seen an animal in such a terrible state as Barilla.
‘The vet said we were lucky we got her when we did because she might not have survived another night. We put her on a drip for six hours before we started feeding her.
‘We made her a type of harness to help her walk so she could gain muscle mass because she couldn’t support her own weight.’

Helpless: Little Barilla had marks on her paws and legs which are thought to have been caused when she dragged herself around. When she arrived at the centre she was at death's door, with her bones sticking out

Helpless: The puppy weighed just 16lbs and, even though she was immediately hooked up to a drip, staff at the centre knew she could suffer organ failure at any time. She could only move her head and wag her tail

Exhausted: She had to be on the drip for six hours before staff could even risk giving her anything more substantial. But she was soon able to stand up to drink

Police are still investigating the mysterious circumstances which led to one of the villagers informing town hall officials he had found the animal.

Recovery: Seven weeks on and she looks like a different dog having wolfed down more food than she had likely ever seen during the nightmare 10 months before she was rescued

Remarkable: Eduardo described Barilla's recovery as 'remarkable' and said that her will to live must have been 'staggering' in order to survive her horrific ordeal

New home: Centre owner Eduardo Rodriguez and his wife Carolina Lopez Gonzalez have adopted Barilla, who now lives at their home with their 14-year-old daughter and their five other dogs

Mr Rodriguez added: ‘For me this is a unique case and we want to get to the bottom of what’s happened.
‘It’s may be difficult to prove who is responsible because Barilla didn’t have a microchip but we and the local police are going to try.
‘I was in a state of shock when I first set eyes on her. The vet said several times during her recovery that he’d never seen such a swift transformation and that most normal dogs would have died.’

It Was Her Dog’s Last Day, So She Gave The Dog The Best Farewell Ever

A dog is always more than just a pet. When you’ve spent a significant amount of your life with a dog, they become family, and there’s no doubt that dogs also think of us as family. Dogs are very loyal to their owners and anyone who has ever been good to them, and they are often more than ready to give love and compassion to whoever needs them.

But sadly, our little furry friends often have a shorter journey through this life than we do. Everyone can agree that one of the hardest moments of a person’s life could be those in which that person has to say goodbye to his or her dog.

But regardless of how hard saying goodbye can be, this kindhearted dog owner decided that she had to put it behind her to give her dog an amazing farewell.

Alyson Page, 31 year old mother from Leigh, was shocked and saddened when her St. Bernard, Sophia, was diagnosed with bone cancer, and the vet told the family that Sophia’s case was untreatable and she would have to be put down.

According to Mrs Page, Sophia was such a huge part of their family, having helped them get through many tough times. So she wrote to the Chill Factore indoor ski center in Manchester, asking them if they would let Sophia play in the snow one last time, since she loved snow so much.

Luckily, Chill Factore replied to her email a day before Sophia was scheduled to be put down, and it was amazing, because Sophia got a chance to do what she loves before she crossed the rainbow bridge.

It’s truly heartwarming to watch, we are so glad the people at Chill Factore let Sophia play with the snow.

Don’t forget to keep your tissues nearby while watching, and share this heartwarming video with your family and friends!

A Heartbroken Shelter Dog Still Wears His Christmas Sweater

14-02-2016 10-49-17 ص

Bobby, the one year old still wears the green Christmas sweater volunteers at the shelter put him in, hoping he would attract attention of some family’s heart.

The photo is breaking my heart into pieces, Bobby looks extremely miserable, and heartborken!

He is still waiting that one day one loving family that will pick him up and take him home with them. Sadly, his patience, unfortunately, was not kindly rewarded. He is still in the shelter, two months after Christmas!

On December 16, Bobby faced his worst nightmare, when his family betrayed him and took him to the Miami-Dade Animal Care Center. Taking his leash off and walking away, leaving him behind, all alone!

Now two months later, Bobby is listed as “Code red” because everyone has passed him by and totally ignored him. He has broken the hearts of the staff, volunteers, and my heart too!

All the poor dog does is just sit with his head dangling down at the gate of his kennel. He seems to know the feeling of being rejected and understands that no one really wants him! Poor Bobby!!

BOBBY – ID#A1695634. “I am a neutered male, tan and white Terrier mix. The shelter staff think I am about 1 year and 4 months old. I have been at the shelter since Dec 16, 2015.” For more information about this animal, call Miami-Dade Animal Services at (305) 884-1101. A link for this dog on Instagram can be found here.

Share Bobby’s story with your family and friends and spread his plea to find a forever home because he really needs it! You sharing this article can save his life and put an end to the poor dog’s misery.

If you decide to help him, please contact the Miami-Dade Animal Services in 7401 NW 74 Street in Miami, Florida 33166. Phone: 305.884.1101.

Photo Of Shelter Puppy Hugging Her Friend Ends Up Saving Them At The Very Last Minute

It took just 2 hours and 6 minutes after their photo was posted for Kala and Keira to find a home.

The two shelter puppies in Atlanta, Georgia caught the eye of Angels Among Us Pet Rescue.

They were told by the shelter that the two frightened friends had sadly reached their “deadline”, literally.

It was their last day, and they were scheduled to be euthanized.

With time quickly running out, the shelter snapped this photo of the two dogs and Angels Among Us posted this plea for help on Facebook:

Their supporters and an amazing community of animal lovers mobilized and came together to share the two canine friends’ plight.

“I picked up the People magazine last week, after following the story on the hugging dogs, and knew I just had to call,” said Wendy. Longtime friends and roommates, Wendy and Pam, have officially adopted the friends, Kala and Keira, from Angels Among Us Pet Rescue.

Wendy had recently lost her two elderly dogs when she saw the People story and realized the hugging pups were still available. “It just fell together,” Wendy explained.

“We turned our tears into smiles with these two young, playful dogs.”
